Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov An entirely disturbing novel. I am beyond glad that I finished reading it (and that I read it, because I wouldn't have wanted to miss out on this chance), but I am quite sure that I will never read it again, I guess it's just too upsetting for me. I read in some other reviews that people can (but obviously don't intend to) relate to Humbert, but that never happened in the course of me reading this novel. I also could not relate to Lolita, because I was just not able to understand the way how she acted. In my opinion, this book can by no means be described as "romantic", as there was no romance at all involved from Lolita's side. But I also wouldn't call it "pervy" or judge it simply from a moral point of view, because it is more than that. Much more than that, but definitely not romantic.
